Which Headers...? Yes I know, search! But I did. I really don't know which ones would be best for me. As of right now, I have Magnaflow Exhaust, LS6 Intake, SLP Air Intake. Headers are definitely next but I really don't know much about them. I plan to keep upgrading my car in the future. I have a 2000 Camaro Z28. I don't want to spend a fortune but I want some that will sound good and make my car perform better. Also has anyone ever gutted the cats? Is that a good idea? We don't have emissions around here. Thanks guys!

Honestly, you've got the following options:
-Cheap eBay headers which are less than $200 for stainless but are 1-5/8" primaries from China.
-Affordable mild steel 1-3/4" headers less than $400 and are USA-made.
-Stainless 1-7/8" headers start in the $700 range for Chinese and $1000+ for American made.
For years 1-3/4" was the standard. People made a ton of power with that size -- and they still do. You want the best, then pop a grand out for 1-7/8". Otherwise, budget conscious is going to be 1-3/4" mild steel or someone's used stainless 1-3/4" name-brand headers.

I found that through the search I just didn't know if the price difference really was a noticeable difference performance wise. And I also didn't know what size to get. But I think the used stainless 1-3/4" sounds like a good option for me considering the budget is pretty tight...

I'd go BBK LT's, installed some on a buddy's car awhile back and had no problems...didn't even need to remove the steering.
I put ebay ones on my car awhile back and they weren't bad, but i'd never get them again...simply because they got so damn hot and have the EGR/AIR provisions.

For about $750.00, shipped, back in 2010, I got Pacesetter Ceramic Coated Headers & TSP Catted Y Pipe. Then an extra $72 for Prothane Motor mounts. And then I did this:

If you plan on doing more than bolt ons, I'd say look for 1 7/8, but if you're just starting (like I was) and just wanna get your feet wet without too much wallet raping, this is a classic setup that a lot of guys have done (which was partly the reason I went with this setup).

I like the Kooks headers. I have done quite a bit of searching and I believe they are the best bang for the buck. TSP are nice but do some research on the manufacturers of different headers and see what you like personally. Look for fitment, design, coating, material, etc...
