Default Hatch is damp

Got a question, not sure if I'm on the right thread though, but anyway, I 've got a 98 camaro with 81,000 miles on it. And after every hard rain there seems to be some dampness in the bottom of the hatch. With the type of material thats back there I can't feel it, but if I have some books back there they get pretty damp. Has anybody else had this problem and know where to direct me or do need to go ahead and climb in the back and let someone spray water all over the outside. The seals are in good condition and don't have any tears in them anywhere.

Thanks, Kevin

Well other than the obvious seals are you sure you're closing the hatch all the way?? They can be hard to seal sometime.
