Great races. I think the Z06's gearing hurts him on highway pulls. It's pretty short w/ 3.42's its real short w/ 4.11.

Sounded pissed off. Gears are killing the Z but that Camaro is no pushover.

I wouldnt blame gears. Steep gears have never effected anything to me on the highway. You just have to shift fast. That Z28 is just straight up the faster car regardless of rear gear

I'm not blaming gears, the Camaro seems to be a stronger car, but from owning one, I can tell you stock gearing would have benefited the Z06 here. Third stock, runs out at 100, 4th ~145. So, with 4.11's it probably take changes those shift points to ~85 and ~130, so he's in the extremely TALL 5th above that, which this race seemed to get to.

If you ever run a C6Z I can tell you on a highway, gearing is a major advantage. 3rd runs to over 120, 4th over 160.

Im not too familiar with the vettes trans gearing, but i know in the mn12 and f body trans, fifth gear works great with 4.10s. So although fourth runs out early, it moves just as hard in fifth. 3.90s or less, you start to soften up the shift into fifth gear.

Less gear in the z would not make a difference. If anything it may slow down.

True story.

Straight from a mustang guy.

Tell me it doesn't make a difference when a stock C6Z walks past you when you're shifting.
