Default Calling all FM5 and Brembo guys!!!!

Wanting to look into a new set of wheels, but I'm really wanting to do the CTS-V brembo upgrade. I read the difference in the 17 and 18" FM5's is made up in the lip, that the centers are the same.. Is that true, and if so does that mean the 18's and 17's would have the same clearance over the caliper? Also, has anyone fit either of these wheels over the CTS-V calipers with or without grinding the caliper? I haven't seen it yet, but hoping maybe someone has. Don't wanna spend $3k+ to find out there's no chance of it.

LPE 403 is who you want to talk too.. not sure how much different the design is between FM5's and Profil's but he made his Profil's work.

Classics kept the same center for 17 and 18. Profils were designed for larger diameter considerations.....the center grew proportionally as the diameter gets larger - in other words, same lip for 17, 18 or 19.

Profils are lighter and stronger too. 17s won fit the V brakes without grinding. Spend a few more for the Profil 18s and make sure you specify you're putting a BBK on so they can make provisions in the center for adequate clearance.

I made them work with 17" ccw classics... Of course had to grind the calipers down and used a hub centric spacer from eibach. They look good thoug. I also treid them with some 18" I forged wheels no grinding needed and still looks greak. Hope that helps.

You can order CCWs with the proper offset and spoke clearance. You just lose about 1" of lip.
