The C5 Z06 market to me is weird. You see cars from low 30s to low 20s with similar mileage and condition. If someone was serious about buying a 40k mile C5 Z06 (any year) what would be a reasonable price a person would expect to pay?

That's why you see prices are all over the spectrum.
This is a Z06 I would pay top $$ for; It will be a one owner garage kept, 'stock' beauty with absolutely no needs and minimal flaws. All paperwork available, including window sticker and full maintenance history. The car was used for cruising and car shows. I'll pay thousand more for that example over a 'fair to good' condition multi owner Z06 which the seller claims to be in 'excellent condition'. You have to weed your way through the sales pitch and actual condition.
If you see a certain car that you want to buy, post it up for serious evaluation. It's all in the details.
*** If you still want a price on the type of car that I described above (the one I would buy) I would expect to pay up to $25,000 for a 40,000 miles 2004 model year in a 'private party' sale. A dealer would probably want more, like this from Hendricks (yeah, the Nascar guy).

Just a follow-up to my previous post in case I didn't explain the reasoning properly. One of the reasons why I probably would not pay more than $25,000 for a 40,000 miles car is because of cars like this which can be had for $7,000 - $8,000 more. After negotiations it could be yours for $32k or $33k. Basically a 'like new' Z06. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...40361151&Log=0
or this one for perhaps just $5,000 more.

You asked for reasonable pricing on a 40,000 miles Z06 example and this justifies the rationale behind that price limit of $25,000. No need to spend more when sub 10,000 miles cars can be had for prices getting darn close. Depends what you are looking for too. Hope this helped a bit.
