Default Sound like a bad alternator?

So today as I was driving normally at maybe 20mph my check gages light came on. All gauges look normal. Running cool. Oil pressure at 50psi, half tank of gas. The volt meter is in the yellow.

Usually at idle my battery reads at 13.5-13.6 volts. Now it's at 10.9 and as I continued driving it dropped to 10.8, and then 10.7..

So I immediately went home, and parked it. I don't want to drive it again to get my alternator tested. So anyone wanna make me feel better before I order an alternator?

See if the alternator is charging, if not then replace it, but don't order it until you make sure its faulty, many times people replace perfectly good working parts because they don't diagnose the problem and just assume.

Put a new alternator in. Problem solved. Back to 13.5v at idle. Easier install than I was expecting. Took no more than 40 minutes start to finish. /thread
