Stalled Z28 vs C5 Z06 Was out cruising last night with the girlfriend and i finally ran into this guy with a nice c5z that i see around town all the time. Its lowered and sounds ******* awesome. he had a passenger and so did i. it was hard to get a clean run but we finally got a decent one over a bridge. id say we were going about 50-60. he took the hit and i followed his lead and ran him down. i was surprised as hell.

Good kill but you ran him down because it was just a convertible C5. They only made 6 C5Z convertibles back in 2001. Only 2 went to the US. And they made 525hp. You likely just raced a z06 badged ls1 C5. And that explains your walk right on by.
But he panties were still probably in a bunch when you came sailing by him

Well that explains it haha. Thanks for the info i had no idea. it doesnt surprise me that he threw z06 badges on it seeing as he has red lights stuck on the side of the car.

yeah im sure he took the hit. we were back and forth down the road but he would not line up next to me. as soon as he hit the bridge i saw his rear end drop so i punched it. i wanted to get next to him but he left before i could so i just followed suit

yeah i guess you could say that. we lined up once from 45 and i pulled him pretty good but there was traffic so not much we could really do. i had like 2 cars to 70 or so. then we hit a red light and he crept up to it next to me so he could have a rolling start which annoyed the **** out of me. we never did have a clean race. all in all it was a fun night. i raced a very clean caliber srt4 ill see if i can get the video

Some people in that thread don't buy it.
Few posts down, one guy said it was basically an aftermarket company that did them. I wonder what was done to the motor to get the claimed "525hp".
