Default Nitto 555 325/50/15 vs Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial 325/50/15

I'm ordering tires today for the new Darkstar wheels I bought, but I'm kind of torn between these two. If I go with the Nitto's, they will be in the following size:

275/40/17 (fronts) and 325/50/15 (rears)

For the Mickey Thompson, they would be as follows:

Mickey Thompson Street Comp 275/40/17 (fronts) and Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial 325/50/15

I can get all 4 Nitto's for $714.00 and I can get all 4 Mickey Thompson's for $774.00

Are the Mickey Thompson's that much better, or are the two about the same? This will be for a 90% street car that will be doing a fair amount of racing on the street (dig and roll) and see the track maybe 2 to 3 times a year.

That's what I've been reading too. If I get the Mickey Thompson 325/50/15's for the rear, what would be a cheaper alternative to the Mickey Thompson Street Comp tires for the front? Could I run just any 275/40/17 tire, or would it be better to have Mickey's on all 4?

I have nitto 555's on the front and mickey Thompson drag radials on the back. How much power are you making?

I was at 500 rwhp and the nittos were fine. I put a 200 shot on my car and they were not so good and I went to the mickey Thompson's. I can hook 735 rwtrq from a 40 roll on the mickey's.

I'd run the Nittos. Better on the street.

MT are a thin sidewall tire. With that much sidewall, it's going to be like ice skating going around corners.

I'm probably right around 450 rwhp, so it looks like the Nitto's will be fine. From what I've been reading, they are better on the street and you can get way more miles out of them over the Mickey's. Plus, they are about $60.00 cheaper.

dont know if this helps, but i run the nitto, bolt ons never spun a tire, 100 shot they break for a split second at the hit, but grab and go like a bandit after that

Yeah, I think the Nitto's will hold my current power level just fine and be better for street driving.

You'll regret not getting the MTs. IMO your power level is the threshold for nittos based on previous experience, and if you're going turbo eventually, dont waste your $

I acutally did get the Mickey's, but in the 275/50/15 to go better with the 275/40/17's for the front. I was worried about the whole ABS fiasco with a 28" tall rear tire, plus my power level doesn't warrant a 28" tall tire, yet.
