What's needed to put an L92 in an 08 truck?
I have a friend wanting to put an L92 in his truck. Right now he has a 5.3 in the truck. I know I will need a cable driven throttle body and I will need to replace the front cover with the phaser and stuff but what about the lifters? Since this motor has the v8-v4 crap do I just get rid of the phaser and throw in a 3 bolt cam since he wants to put in a cam anyway or will I have to change the lifters too? I would assume valley cover stays too? (Edit: I see that I will need an ls2 oe ls3 valley cover)
I will do the usual such as springs and pushrods. It will have a 3 bolt cam and the 3 bolt timing set and a ported ls6 pump.
Doesn't TSP sell a kit like that or something?

We do suggest you replace the lifters, especially if you are doing an aftermarket cam. You may want to go ahead and replace all 16 since you are in there.
