Default Overdriven rears= too much for even the best 6 rib

As my luck would have it the Maggie ate up even the gates RACING belt. I've been having a blast since getting the new CS mounts in and well who am I to have fun and not break every damn thing in my path lol. 8 rib here I come!

That looks like a tensioner or alignment problem. How long have you had the Maggie ? Have you had any other belts do that ?

about 4 years...its not a tensioner or misalighnment problem as i use a lazer to square it all any and everytime i change a pulley. the one thing i did have to do in order to get this belt on (as it was shorter than most) was change the tensioner pulley back to the maggie stocker. ill be going back to the v2 acces pulley and a longer belt to get me by till my 8 ribs come in.

my car just eats these 6 rib belts...snapped a couple and stretched all the others a few inches or more in some cases. i even have the maggie HD tensioner and even that doesnt help and in my case stretched the belts the fastest. i BEAT on this car daily so im used to stuff like this..is what it is

I will pulling the trigger on the swap tomorrow and will be sure to try to post pictures.

I guess seeing this, I better stock up on extra belts. I'm going 3.1 on the jack and will be spinning just under 17,000 rpms.

The thing I want to know, is the new HX installed?

Jesus! He's already pushing that blower hard. The only reason for overdriven crank, is if you don't have room to pulley down on the jack. He's running a 3.0 on the jack, so he has room to go down with an 8 rib if he really wants to.

Yeah, I dread anytime I need to pull the bumper. I'll still be waiting for your results though.

I can't wait to get these rears done. Hopefully I can figure out the tuning. I'll be reading anything and everything on HP Tuners for the rest of the night.

I feel like if you're swapping the crank pulley and the blower pulleys anyways you may as well overdrive it and pulley up appropriately on the blower. And besides... I'm selling a basically new OD 8 rib in the classifieds for a good price and would like to see it go to a good home!

Full 8 rib setup, or just the crank?

I had the same problem as you

so I got the upgraded tensioner from Magnuson, but you dont need that since you already have an upgraded tensioner. You could replace your upgraded tensioner and get the 1/2" longer Gates Racing blue belt K061020RB. ( I assumed that you were using the K061015RB)

I broke the jackshaft on the press. I was using a Pneumatic press and let the pedal get away from me and it snapped. I'm scared to know how much that things going to cost but, I guess I'll find out Monday.

That's what I plan to do. I already found the bolt that fits in the shaft, so I'll make something up this week. I plan to throw the shaft in the freezer, and heat the pulley. I've decided just to go 1:1. I put the broken shaft back on the blower just to get the car out of the shop, and found that I couldn't get the rear belt on. So I'll order another 3.2 pulley for the rear. With the 3.1 front, I'll be spinning 15,200 rpm, with the stock 2.8, I'll be at 16,800. Stock rears with 2.8 front is 13,969.

I want to say the new shaft is around 300 bones give or take a few. I had to buy one a few years ago.
