Default Quick romp, my TT Trans Am vs a '03 Whipple Cobra

Messed around with a buddy's Whipple '03 Cobra tonight. I think I am blowing out spark when its cold out (I never paid attention to the gap on the TR7's oops... i guess they are supposed to be at 28 and are like 40 out of the box) Anyway, I was short shifting like a **** because it was breaking up. Sounds like I have 4.30's instead of 3.25s and a 28" tire lol .... I believe he is on 18psi and i am on 11ish... Going on vacation this week but hopefully get everything sorted out when i get back and get a re-run. I believe he is going to the big 3.4 "Crusher" soon, so that will make things pretty interesting. Also have to race my friends 410W Mustang on a 150 shot and my other friend's LS1 swapped 240 with a cam and 150 shot.. stay tuned!

Yeah, i am pretty happy with how it is performing even with having issues. I can't wait to see what i can do with the bugs worked out and 15-17 psi!.. The motor is a 6.0 iron block with forged internals. My friend built it.

Very cool! Get those bugs worked out, and that thing will be nuts lol!! I just recently went with a forged 370 LQ9 from TMS, and really like it! Can't wait for the day when I can throw a 300 shot at it lol! For now I have to consider that I still have the wimpy *** 10 bolt lol

I dont think a 3.4 crusher setup will help him at all once you get your issues worked out and up boost to where it should be. Unless he has better pistons and is planning on doing race gas/e85 and lots of boost he shouldn't keep up. I dont think any of the cars you mentioned would have enough for your setup lol.

Switched out plugs, went with the non projected tip BR7EF's gapped at .25.. pulled my old plugs and they were anywhere from 36-40 lol.... Bumped up the boost from 11 to 13psi last night and no popping and it runs harder and smoother. Time for a rematch

I should hopefully have my hands in building some friendly competition this winter. I will probably be riding along with my friend in the next coupe weeks to pick up his new 5.0 stroker for his '03 Cobra/76mm turbo setup ... can't wait to start making some good videos again.

18psi is pretty low for a whipple. Guys dont usually run them under 20psi but like its been said it still wont have a chance with your turned up.

Mine is on 18 psi, I have a 21 psi pulley for it but that's race gas only since we don't have E85 locally.
