Default ctsv 2005 questions

so ive been driving my V for a few months now, and have put about 8-9k miles on it and it runs perfect.. (LOVE IT)
i bought some kooks headers and some high flow cats (used) on clist, as of right now my ctsv has a K&N intake and muffler delete... sounds good but would like it a lil louder... but. i live in CALIFORNIA, with that said, anyone her in california think its worth it to instal the headers and risk getting fucked by cops?
any tips on whats the best way to do the header instal? ive done it a couple times on 4th gen camaros but never on a V, anything i should know b4 doing it?

I HAVE ABOUT ANOTHER 40K MILE WARRANTY FROM THE DEALER WOULD HEADERS VOID MY WARRANTY?

As long as you're not in high rpms it should be cool! And in pretty sure it would void warranty.

I wouldn't mess with headers in Cali and it would likely void a warranty unless it was something completely unrelated.

Install headers from the bottom. Jack the car up enough and 1-3/4" ones will weave in place. Some have to disconnect the steering shaft to get the driver side in. I don't have to with B&B headers.

My videos. Some are just intake headers catback. Others include the Cam. But itll give you an idea on noise levels.

I live in California and I have 1&3/4 long tubes on it. Man screw the C.A.R.B. they can blow me. Keep the stock mani and cats so you can swap them out every other year. I skipped smog this year but next year I know I'll get it. What do you think the cops are going to do? Crawl under the car? Yea, right.

On a side note... Kooks with racing cats and a muffler delete will be loud... Like really loud. I would love to have my car that loud but my neighbors won't... And I know some coos are douche nozzles about that kind of stuff.

I used to live in the Peoples Republic of California, and you might be able to get by if you know someone at your local smog station, but otherwise the inspector will look at the headers and cats and will fail you on the visual inspection unless the parts have C.A.R.B. EO#'s on them. Will charge you for the inspection to boot! Unless you know someone at an inspection station you will be swapping them out every other year. I doubt a cop would hassle you, but if you are not running any cats the fine used to be in the neighborhood of $2500 from the CHP.

I found this for a list of Cats that CA will allow you to use.

Here's some more info on the $2,500 fine

California is supposed to be the car capital of the country. But its **** land. **** that.

I know a guy was looking at my car when it was FS and was scared of the CAM with CARB... sucks

Let me know if you change your mind on installing the headers as I might be interested.
