Default Tapered seat vs gasketed

Will a gasketed plug seal in a tapered application? The 5.3 I have uses the tapered plug, but there is a flat area right there and it looks like it was meant for a spark plug with a gasket.

Reason I ask is I have a box of BR7ES sitting here I'd like to use. I could go with the TR6's as well but worried they may be a bit hot for ~14 psi and pump gas???

On any heads Ive tried, Yes.

Tapered seat plugs are very uncommon here in the UK. Ive always used gasketed plugs in my engines.
