Default is a cxracing gt45r big enough

Car spec-2012 camaro ss, lsx376 (basically an ls3 but only 9 to 1 compression), with ls9 cam and arp rod bolts, holley high ram, 80lb injectors, turbonetics 78mm benita hurricane turbo in a custom rear mount with air to air, built 6l80e, 3500 stall converter, foot brakes to 2800 before it pushes thru, 3.45 rear gear. When the car chassis dynos it would hit 6ish at 10 pounds of boost at like 4800 and then drop off like a rock from a cliff. turns out using the same turbine as the tnetics kit was a bad plan. Im hoping to going front mount with a bigger turbo because my 376 has around a 2.5 to 1 back pressure ratio at 650 whp. I have had good luck with the gt45 ebay stuff in the past and found the gt45r 80mm from cxracing. Would this allow me to see 800 whp without back pressure issues like i have now? im going front mount due to being tired of the lag everyone says remote mounts dont have. im just fed up with the crutches and oil pumps and am moving forward. literally. no offense intended for anyone who has it working im just not going to invest anymore time into it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you ahead of time.

gt45r
- 5" Air Inlet
- Compressed Air Outlet: 3.25" Vband
- Ceramic Ball Bearing on Compressor Side Compressor
- Standard T4 Turbine Housing Flange
- Exhaust Outlet: 3.5" V-Band
- Oil Cooled
- 0.60 A/R Compressor
- Turbine: 1.15 A/R
- Compressor Wheel (Major/Exducer): 80/108mm
- Turbine Wheel (Major/Inducer): 77.4/88.9 mm

I think its legit enough for your build. How much boost are you planning on pushing?

If you are going front mount I would go with a Borg Warner S476 or S480 with at least the 83mm turbine wheel. They can be had for relatively cheap.

I just bought a s471 off eBay rebuilt by apt . I have 5.3 stock with ls1 heads 4200 stall turbo 350 with 275 geared 9" ford rear in a 1995 Sonoma weighing 3100 pounds . At exh is 1.0 t4 devided . Planning a little of street and strip not daily driver . Doesn't have ac,power steering or water pump dragging it down meizer water pump . I am looking at 52# injectors and walbro twins . That's the fuel pump for sure and am open to different bigger or smaller injectors ? Stock ls1 fuel rails on lingenfelter Holley intake ? Sanderson shorty headers . Am running two driver side headers the driver side in its regular position and another on passenger flipped up and back . 2-12 crossover around back with turbo mounted on passenger head . I know I'm putting all this info in the wrong place and am noobie . But can copy and paste it to the right place later . Stock cam now and custom Tick or other sponsor specialist cam after I get my forged rotating assembly . Any info about that turbo ? 71.06/101.45-77.5/87 thanks

I was hoping to hit 800whp so as for boost 16- 18 pounds and I won't spin the engine past 6500 due to my trans builder telling me the 6l80 can't shift fast enough above that rpm to not be in two gears at once. How possible would it be to hit that HP goal with the gt45r 80mm at that rpm and boost number.

I think you will choke way before 6500rpm at 16-18 psi. I say bw s480 with atleast the 92mm turbine wheel.

I have a friend that offered to sell me two on3 70s with 63 ar turbines. Would those work for twins in the front and how laggy do you think they would be. I know they are a little large for twins at 800 whp but there almost free. He decided to go with a set of 76mm on his 6.0. I think that's way big but he is race only and I spend 90 percent of the time on the street. Anyway what do you think.
