Default fuel pump

Is there any reason why I can't put a manual switch to turn my stock pump on and off? It's a new pump and the relay is working properly.

Just run a toggle switch off the wires going to the pump, that's all I've ever seen done.

I did that for my secondary pump, the trigger for the relay is on a toggle switch. Same concept
