Default 6bolt head on 4bolt block?

Iam planning on getting a lq4 pullout soon to out in my Mustang and plan on making 1000-1100hp on high boost but I keep hearing about pushing water so could I buy a set of 6bolt heads to put on a 4bolt block incase this is a issue then down the road put the same heads on a 6bolt block so I don't have to buy new heads? Looking at the TSP 408 rotating assembly dont know what heads yet.

All of our aftermarket castings come with the extra 6 bolt provisions for guys using aftermarket blocks, and stock gm blocks. I see no reason why you can't run a six bolt head now so you don't wind up purchasing another set when you decide to upgrade the block. We have a lot of customers that do the same thing your thinking about.

I'm running MAST 6-bolt heads on my ls6 block, so to answer your question, yes you can.

Huh? You will have 2 extra holes per cylinder, times 8 that equals 16, or 8 per head. You don't make sense sir. If a typo then sorry.

Thanks guys, this will be what I will be doing then. I just didn't want to buy new heads after the block upgrade.

I run the 6bolt trick flow LSX head on my LS 408. Bout them just in case I wanted to go LSX in the future. So the answer is yes. Looks weird tho when you look down by the head and you see bolts missing! Lol

thats what im doing. nothing like having to buy **** twice and not selling it for nearly enough to pay for the new set. plus the aftermarket castings have a pretty thick deck which is a plus too!

Yep mine looks the same. I'm getting ready to sell my LS short block pretty soon and go ahead with the LSX short lock. It's nice not to have to buy a new set of heads!!
