Well ive talked about it in many threads and now im doing it for real. Trying something not done much to see how well it works.

Radiator and fans will be located in the t-top hide away area which will be trimmed out and closed in separate from the interior.

What pushed me into just taking the plunge was a little mountain trip me and my wife took labor day. It was pretty hot that day and traffic was horrible. Up the mountain my temps climbed to 226* a few times averaging 217-218. That's to hot for my comfort. Well the car ran fine, of coarse I stayed out of it with it being that warm. My iats staying around 96* cruising so intercooler is doing its job.

We pulled in the shop and got out of the car after getting home and when we walked in front of it, a hole burst in the little rubber section of hose between the radiator and my stainless hose. Got to looking and noticed the stainless hose we had made was not really lining up that good with the radiator inlet. Little frustrated and HOT from the trip with no a/c lol I told myself rather than change the hose ill just take this time to do what ive been wanting to anyways and that's move radiator to the rear. So here I go. Ill keep many pics posted because although this is talked about, I have not really seen any thread with detailed pictures.

This is 1.5"id stainless tubing. With header tabs welded on to hold them in place a little to the shock tower.






Just holding them up kind of how they are going to sit. Some length may be added here to get the rubber couplers away from the manifold area.


Finished welding them up this morning. After bead rolling these will be complete and then it to continue with the rest under the car.

Ive done a lot of reading on the 4x4 offroad forums on this and most achieve good results using the stock water pump without having a helper pump. So im gonna try that first, if I need to add a small cheap pump inline I will but guys are using 1.5" lines with stock pumps with 14+ft of inlet and outlet plumbing and moving water fine.

Fans are gonna be loud when you are in the car..

Once t-top area is cut out and things are fabbed in a sheet metal/aluminum box will be built around the area separating it from the interior of the car. Like the truck area currently is just different shaped lol. Fans will be pullers again just like stock.

Thanks! Should have full car length pipes fabbed in this evening and over the rearend where factory exhaust goes. If everything goes good.

Yep lol. Like to do aluminum but it'll have to wait. I'm broke at the moment. Just going at this with leftover scrap and random scrap header pieces from kooks.

I think the added capacity of coolant along with the stock fans should have good results. Are you sitting the radiator vertical? Or laying it down?

just curious...how do you plan on getting air to it? gonna do some scoops or just draw air from under the car??

I may do a small air dam to force some air up to it even though it will be pretty low. Just have to see how its gonna set in there first then we will see.

How are you gonna get the air to come out once it goes into the radiator? I mean getting it out of the car, if that makes sense.

There will be a big enough gap between bumper and the fans for air to escape. Hard to explain without just doing it lol. I got a plan in my pee brain lol.
