Default 12' TVS GT500 vs 05' ECS 1500 Vette

Met a pretty cool Vette owner last weekend, and we ended up playing a little on the highway, but the car was just picked up that day after supercharger install, and he was not used to it yet. We talked a bit about the cars and decided we needed to meet up again and try the races again. Fast forward to this past Friday night, and we were armed with Gopros. His wasn't pointed in the ideal direction, so we didn't use that footage. Mine was pointed straight out the side from the top of the back window.

Setup for the race:

We met up at the Mexican border, and hit the road. Decided to do 40-130 pulls. Due to him not being able to hear the horn last week, we decided for him to slow down, then when I gear down we would go. Didn't work out exactly time wise, but was fairly close.

First run, he spins pretty bad. We chalk that one up to a tire warmup pull.

Second run, he hooks up, and I sleep slightly and he gets the hit. Once we got rolling I think imo we were fairly closely matched. Two wicked fast cars battling it out. He gets a car on me, and also singed my eyebrows shooting flames at me. I want a flamethrower..... why can't I have a flamethrower too???

Anyway, we are supposed to try to get some good daytime runs in soon, and hopefully we can get a good start and let them roll out. I estimate him pulling very slightly. He still has to get a little more used to the car too.. so it will be a beast when he is used to it. Also, the fact he is running a N/A cam from the previous setup. Blower cam will wake it up some more.
Just a couple of 600+ cars teleporting to Mexico.

Here is the vid:

Yeah, he needs to work on the shifting a little more. It's a fast car. Hopefully we can get some good daytime vids, and an even hit. Should be fun. He has a pretty nasty Cobra too.

True. But I am not really speed shifting my car either. And that LS2 is no joke. Putting slightly more power down than a H/C/I C6Z06.

I think we would have a decent run with a good hit by both of us.

Much props to him.. it's a beast.

We got to run pretty soon. Based on that race, we should be a pretty even race.

You still on the stock blower or do you got the 13 TVS on yours?

Howdyz I have the 13' TVS on it now. other power mods are just the 65mm tb, elbow, gutted cats and dyno tune. Running 15psi.

Probably first of October range, I will be going with larger injectors(stock right now), bigger maf/cold air, 2.39 pulley down from 2.67, and a more aggressive tune. Looking for another 75rwhp or so over what I have now. Hopefully, anyway.

Nice runs. Is he run meth also? If ECS worked on it then I know the answer. 40 isn't gonna be is best spot but should make for a good run until he learns how to shift. Winding out 4th will make the vette pull even more so shutting down at 130 will favor you. I wanna see how the next round of mods helps you.

I don't believe he has meth yet. ECS didn't do the work, a local shop did the install. I know the vids said 40-130, but honestly, I would say we were somewhere between 40-50mph when we started.. didn't really set at exact 40. Also, the start method was not setup good enough. At these power levels, when one car gets the hit, it can pull a car very quickly.. so next race we need to work something out on being able to get some even hits. I will talk to him this week and see what we can get setup for next weekend during the day somewhere.

We could go to 140, I just don't like going much faster. Will see about trying a couple different speed ranges next time. maybe a 40, 50, and 60 mph pull. I think he would get a slight pull at 130 spot because I have to shift into 5th gear at that point.

Next round of mods should make a decent difference. But the Vettes definitely have the advantage above 120. I just like being able to run a badass car for fun, and stop after and bullshit about cars. I'm pretty easygoing when it comes to that.. win or lose.. all in fun.

Cool deal. Let me know the weekend, and we will set something up. As long as I am not working we can meet up in "Mexikory"
