lt1 t56 swap into v6 okay guys, i found a lt1 t56 for a good deal. I am putting a posi 3.73 rear in my car, wanting to put a 6 speed to help with the mpgs on interstate. i know i can get an adapter plate for either the t56 bell housing or one for my t5's bellhousing, but will the lt1 trans fit in there? my car is a 98 v6

okay, i think i have figured it out. i have to change the faceplate and input shaft to get it to work with either adapter plate. only need a new bellhousing if i use the malwood adapter, which i think i will go with the gearbox
