Question Swapped stock rear can't get into reverse

Last year my stock rear got completely swapped with a new, stock rear axle/gear/etc.

My car was equipped with TCS/ABS but the new rear didn't have traction control.

Mechanic said, in addition to TCS, I wouldn't have a reverse lockout, which I don't, so it's difficult to go into reverse; much harder with my new shifter.

Question is how can I fab a reverse lockout solenoid back into my car?

6 speed D&D T56 stock axle with 3:42.

Thanks for any help!

Just out of curiosity how is the TCS and reverse lockout tied together?

I don't believe the lockout is tied in with the ABS or TC, but rather the speedometer. I think if the car is under 5MPH the solenoid allows for reverse.

Have you checked for any stop points on the shifter? You're also saying that you do not have the solenoid installed, and its hard to get into reverse; correct?

After doing more research I see that the mechanic just didn't know how to reconnect or power the solenoid when he swapped the rears; for whatever reason, I don't know.

I HAD the stock reverse lockout solenoid up until last year. I don't know if it's still on the car or he just junked it for no good reason.

I'm gonna go to a shop today to verify if it's there. I found how to fab it to the brake and power the solenoid if it's there.

If not guess I gotta order one

The mechanic should not have even touched the solenoid during the rear swap.

That's not comforting

I'll find out later if its still on the car.
