Default LS3 or TFS235 Heads?

I am building a 408 for Twin turbo's I have stock LS3 heads and TFS 235's.

I have a FAST 102 for the TFS heads or a stock LS3 intake for the LS3 heads.

Which head do you thing would be better?

I'm leaning toward the LS3 heads, that way I can sell the TFS to help pay for the build but I don't want to compromise the potential of the build to save a few bucks.

Any input would be helpful.

Thanks

I would go with the LS3's and sell the TFS heads. Those LS3 heads are going to be plenty for a twin turbo 408.

I would use the tfs, thicker deck and better exhaust port... Though chamber size may sway me to the ls3 if they are bigger especially with those cubes. Maybe another issue, not sure how important, but ls3 work on that bore but not ideal, the tfs are setup for that bore or am I mistaken? Take into account springs and lobes you will be using. The tfs might save some aggravation...

Reducing aggravation is always a plus.

I'm shooting for 800-1000 whp. I'm thinking about removing the A/C & power steering. Swapping in a 4L80. Currently have a M9 with 3.89 gears on a Wavetrac carrier 35 spline axels.

I'm leaning towards the LS3 heads because I can sell off the TFS 235's and FAST 102 intake to help finance the turbo setup.

Stick with the TFS if you do not move water at high HP levels. We ran them to 1800hp, they will hold all day with MLS gaskets under 1500.

Good info from a very knowledgable source. I would do the tfs since its obvious you want to make some power. Less chance of pushing water at high boost levels.

Keep the TFS heads. As hellbent advised you want to avoid lifting the heads and pushing water.

I would keep the TFS heads, and send them to Tooley for some fine massaging.

That's the way I'm leaning now. Who is Tooley and how do I contact him?

Thanks

I would search the comparison, I remember seeing a few discussions and the general trend was the 235/102 was worth power and torque over the LS3. I wouldnt put money into them, but if the springs are sufficient for your intended cam, the better exhaust port, better deck and better for that bore it would be the head to use. I would think these will make more power or same power at less boost as is.
