Default Clutch pedal rock hard!

So I'm in the middle of my spec 2 clutch install as well as a tick master cylinder. I finally got everything back together and the clutch pedal is rock hard. If I crack the bleeder it moves and fluid comes out. But once the bleeder is closed nothing. I replaced the slave with a lightly used one that I received when I bought the kit from a member. What can be wrong? Can the slave be seized?

Are you sure that the quick-connect is engaged fully (on the line between the slave and master)? Do you get any pedal travel at all?

Any other ideas guys? Has anyone ever heard or seen a slave seize? I spoke to Martin at tick today and he felt that it was either the pressure plate or a seized slave. I'm almost positive the pp is fine and the slave was used and the bleeder was left open with no fluid in it for some time. I really hope it's just the salve

Our plates are checked prior to shipping to insure that they actuate as they should and that they are within spec on a number of tests. Unless you have a disc installed backwards (which would cause contact with the spring-cage) I don't see there being a clutch parts issue.

I don't see how I could have installed the clutch backwards. It's marked on the flywheel side. The flat side goes towards the flywheel and the slightly raised side is towards the pressure plate. Correct?

I understand, and yes, the disc is marked and the spring-cage faces the plate. That being said, I wouldn't mention it if I hadn't seen it happen before...lol! Did you have any issue getting the transmission back on and snugged against the motor?

No issues getting the tranny back in. I do believe it to be the slave cylinder. It has been used and sitting with the bleeder off and the internals open to the elements so let's hope it's just that thanks for your help

I just don't even see how that is even possible.

Trust me...it happens, and of course it causes considerable damage to the disc in the process. Have you ever seen a disc that looks like a bowl?

Well I dropped the trans again today and its not the slave. I took it off the trans and hooked it back up to the master and it moved fine so what could be wrong then. The pressure plate is obviously not releasing or moving for that matter. So is the pressure plate seized?

Lesson learned. Don't ever buy used parts again. Also buyers beware of 00ss6speeder. He sold me the clutch kit as a spec stage 2+ and it turns out it is actually only a stage 2 and the icing on the cake is the pressure plate is a piece of junk! He won't refund me my money either

Give me a call and I will work with you on getting a new plate. That is the risk of buying used parts but I am sure we can make the best of a bad situation.

Don't call the PP as the smoking gun just yet. I went through a similar situation thinking it was the PP for my issue. I was wrong and it was a bent clutch disc. I would have it checked out. SPEC should be able to do that for you.
