Default Super Victor vs. Victor Jr.

I'm looking for some opinions on which intake would be best the Super Victor or Victor Jr. for nitrous application on a mostly track car? I have no height limitation since the cowl is cut back to the windshield and the car has VFN extended Sunoco hood. I'm not overly worried about the low end power since it will spend most time in the higher RPM range. I still haven't decided on the cylinder heads but it will be either be stage 2 LS6 or PRC as cast 225cc. Would I be giving up any power using the Super Victor on a smaller ci engine? What would be the advantages or disadvantages between those intakes?

My combo is:
347ci LS1 forged bottom end
4150 T/b
1 7/8" headers w/ 3" true dual
238/242 .605 .610" 113lsa cam(May or may not change)
3600 stall
9" rear end 3.70 gears
250-300hp shot

I actually just googled this exact same question earlier and found a thread on here from a few years ago. I think most will point you toward the Super Victor, especially since clearance isn't an issue.

Well we have almost the exact same setup and my times are in the sig. I run the Vic Jr but I have clearance restrictions. If I were you i would run the Super "IF" your engine can handle high rpms, at least 73-7500. If you are not setup to spin that high then go with the Jr. Also look at the PUCK system from Nitrous Outlet, it would work great with your combo.

Super vic if you are going to really spin that thing past 7000. If you get the jr you will always wonder if it would pick up any. If you ever go with a larger cam you will need it.

Super victor. On a decent size nitrous shot you will never be under 5500 rpms. I would really like to see you with aftermarket casting heads.

I know we have pretty close setups that's why I talked to you about your new heads. My engine should have no problem spinning over 7k it has all ARP bolts, Eagle forged H beam 6.125 rods, and Wiseco forged pistons w/ steel top ring.

Just curious, with a Vic Jr having less plenum and shorter runners, why would it peak at a lower rpm than a Super Vic?

Supervictor makes sense to me. The only reason you don't see more people use them as much as vic jr's is because of the height restriction and cutting the cowl. You don't have either issue and with your setup it sounds like you will be seeing 7k+ rpm's which is what these intakes like. Plus if you upgrade the cam and/or go big cube you will already have the intake for it. Just my .02

Well the heads are chosen I got a pretty good deal on a set of TEA stage 2 ported LS6 heads with 2.04/1.575 valves. With this head do you guys still think Super Victor is the way to go?

Right, Super Vic should peak sooner.

I would choose the Super Vic.

I think there are instances where a stock Vic Jr could potentielly peak sooner than a Super Vic such as a high revving solid roller 4.1" stroke 4.125"+ bore motor with very high flowing heads simply due to runner volume and the intake becoming a restriction. But if the Jr was ported to the same cross section as a Super, I'd guess the Jr to pull a higher rpm.

But how many of those do we see?

Good words of advice.

Ok I have Super Victor bought and paid for so hopefully I can get it all together and start testing soon. With a Super Victor should I run as tall of a spacer between intake and Throttle Body as I can or does Super Victor have enough Plenum and runner volume where the spacer isn't needed?

I've seen people use the spacer that converts to a 4500 flange, not sure if it made much difference but it's an option if you haven't already bought a 4150 tb...

Do you have to run a spacer? Just asking because clearance is tight as it is.

No, but if you have clearance it's a good idea though...

Is that because of better air flow?

Super Victors ports have a larger cross sectional area. Port velocity is more of the issue than the small amount of runner length difference in regards to lower rpm torque.

With that being said, I would like to do some head to head testing on my car just to see. Anyone with one laying around can PM me I will send you my shipping address.

I know one major draw of the scorpion TB is its height (it's the shortest of the 4150 TB's). Is this a bad thing? Does this TB need a spacer?
