First pass on 2011 camaro ss tune was 7.68 in 1/8 at 92 mph. Needs tuning there's alot more power still in it.

How much extra work was needed for the 6L80E? Local pullout for sale and seriously considering if it doesn't need too much extra work.

I'm curious to hear the answer to this as well. Also, do y'all know if the 4L80E & the 6L80E are close to the same size (length/width/outside diameter, etc)?

The 4L80 and 6L80 transmissions are nothing alike. The 4L80 is longer than the 6L80, which is taller than the 4L80 and hangs lower towards the ground also.

Yup that's my understanding. Haven't had a 4L60, 4L80, and 6L80 side by side.

From what I read the 4L60 is overall smallest unit. 4L80 is thicker around with a different taper from bellhousing to tail. 6L80 is shorter than both 4L units but larger around and hangs much lower from center driveline.

Primary issues going 6L80 (assuming) are ground clearance due to low hanging pan, firewall and tunnel clearance due to different taper and larger overall diameter, then being slightly shorter may need different driveshaft. Not sure if a longer driveshaft is required or just change out yokes.
