Default Need advice on what to do next!!!!!!

I have a stock ls1. I have just ordered 1 3/4 headers, 3" Ypipe, 3.73 gear and a cold air intake kit. What should I do next..?? Want to stay with stock heads for now just change springs. Budget for this week is $800-$1000.

What are your goals for the car, how far do you want to go, do you want to do a cam swap, or stay boltons etc.

I would like to gain as much hp and tq as possible without having to go in the bottom of the motor or buying more heads (for now). Yes i would so a cam swap.

I am going to give a laundry list of what I do when I do a cam swap and intake swap, not all of these are necessary but I do them on higher mileage cars.

First the LS6 manifold is going to need to have the ribs shaved of the bottom or the use ls6 coolant tubes to get the proper clearance on the bottom side of the intake.

Cam swap parts:
New oil pump, timing chain, lifters, cam, pushords, headgaskets, pushrods, trunnion rocker upgrade, lifter trays, front timing cover gasket, new balancer bolt.

There is more to I could add to that list but that is just a large blanket of most of the parts needed for a cam swap, now lifters are not always needed but I always put them in just for piece of mind.

But before you even consider doing a cam swap if you don't have a converter in the car get one, minimum 3600 stall, anything lower and you wish you went bigger. Yank, Vigilante, Circle D, PTC are all great brands. You will need a auxiliary trans cooler to go with the converter or you will cook you transmission fluid and the trans.

There is allot more involved in doing a cam swap than most people think, and I didn't even start talking about tuning yet, my suggestion would be to read https://ls1tech.com/forums/new-ls1-o...anna-fast.html and read up before buying any parts, make sure you feel comfortable doing the work. If not make sure you have a hefty chunk of change to pay a reputable shop to do the work.

A big hp number doesn't mean much if you can't get it to the ground. I'd say you have a great start, shift focus to torque arm, sub frame connectors and drag radials. Made the most difference in my car.

Exhaust and a SSRA. The SSRA is by far my favorite mod done to date.

I'm sure you have a lid already? That mod is a given if you don't have it already

if your car is an automatic definately go with a new converter next!
also consider the 3.90 gear since those are still made in europe and not china like the 3.73 and 4.10
