Twin Turbo LSx 6.0 Notch Project
This project is going to take me in a new direction but it should be fun and fast. I come from all Fords in the past. The plan is a Twin 76mm 6.0 LSx with a th400 275 radial car. Picked up a super clean roller with a GM paint job Atomic Orange which will go well with my LSx swap. I have been gathering parts for a month and finally got to get in the garage to get the longblock tore down, cleaned up and reassembled. It is a junkyard LY6 6.0 with 100k on it. Lots of goodies and detail work. Cleaned and painted block, cleaned up pistons and regapped rings for boost, installed arp rod bolts, deleated variable cam crap and installed new cam, high volume oil pump, double roller timing chain, ati damper, cleaned up heads, lapped the valves and seats, installed new double spring kit, titanium pushrods, ls7 lifters, new zr1 head gaskets, arp head studs. Finally put on my Holley Hi Ram intake and Holley coil covers for those of you that know how ugly they look sitting on valve covers to see what the beast looks like. Some pics:

Going to find out when I get to dropping motor in lol. It should as the LS motor sits pretty low in the cradle. and the hood gives me 2.5" extra plus could always modify where motor sits to give another half inch or so. If it doesn't just have to get bigger cowl cause intake is staying.

The Pro Flo XT p/n 7140 is 9.7" tall at a point 3.1" in front of the forward most intake manifold bolt center line. The Holley intake is 12.32" tall at a point about 1" (estimated) from the center line of the front most intake bolt. I gave up trying to make a Holley fit under my stock hood but I can get in a Pro Flo XT or a FAST LSXRT.
I guess my point is I believe it will be a tight fit if the engine is set forward and up high like with the swap kits. If you want it under that hood you may have to build your own mounts.
Also, what kind of gauge cluster is that?

I had to drop my LS1 about 1.6" and at the same time I set it back about .700" towards the firewall, on the MM 4.6L k-member in my fox, to get a Pro-Flo XT intake under the stock hood. I had to notch the forward most edge of the f-body oil pan to get it there, and also, I can not weld the k-member motor mount bolts into my motor mounts, otherwise there is too much angle while dropping the engine in with the T56 attached and getting the bolts through the k-member slots before the heads hit the firewall. Not really a big issue I guess.

Test fitting motor. Had a Team Z Windsor based k member so had to get the BRP LS to Fox motor mounts. A bit pricey for mounts but no fab work needed to use them. Did not level anything as was more worried about getting intake measurements. 2.5 Cowl is a no go so Im stepping up to a 4" liftoff. Lucky for me a buddy of a buddy has one he wants to get rid of and he is also a painter so going to be a straight up trade for my already painted hood. Header and turbo piping fabrication will start next week.

More progress on the Notch at 412 Motorsports with George C. Got the motor leveled in the engine bay and George welded the mounts in. Started building custom log manifolds and mocking up turbos. Coming along nicely
