Ok I'm finishing buying parts for my 95T/A, 3200-3300lb raceweight,LQ9 turbo build that has, headgaskets. Studs, custom turbo cam, tpoley springs, cleaned up 317's, S475,96, 1.32ar,turbo ,3,500 converter/Powerglide 1.76, and it has The Burkhart Fab 9" rear end, 28" tires and a 7000 rev limt.. I have the aluminum center section out and it has a set of 3.70 pro gears in it. So should I leave those in and give it shot or put a set of 3.50's that I have access to or buy a new set of 3.27 gear?? This is my first turbo build and it would be 70% strip 30% street. I would like to run 8.70-8.80's@155+mph. What you think would be the quickest/fastest in the 1/4 mile.

Yeah I have always used tires to get in the gear ratio closer to ideal. But looking at some of the quickest SBE 5.3's and 6.0's run "Stock48" 6.0/S476 turbo/Powerglide,3.23 gears car ran. 8.39@164mph 3300llbs.
"Skinniest" 5.3/turbo/Powerglide, 3,50's I think
Ran. 8.60@165mph??

Taller gear being quicker in a turbo car is BULLSHIT! Before drag week my Nova 60' 1.30, 8.63@158 on a local track with 3.70 gear best time on Drag Week on awesome tracks 8.66 on a 1.33 (on back tires though)@158 and this was way more aggressive right off the transbrake plus half a pound or so on top. trap speed didn't change because car is out of fuel pump volume to make more power. That's with a 4l80e too with a 2.48 low gear, Powerglide will be worse. gear it for track speed/rpm just like the REAL experts recommend.
