MSD 6LS wiring too short
Has anyone seen this? I have a LQ4 and the wiring harness is too short to plug in both the cam and crank sensors. I should say that if one is plugged in, the other will not reach.
I have run the harness against the firewall and the other sensors can be reached with ease. I am not doing anything out of the ordinary (besides putting an LQ4 in a 69 Camaro).
Suggestions anyone?

I did when I first tried putting a 6010 box on my 58X reluctor LS2 motor. When GM went from the Gen III to the Gen IV LS motors, they not only switched reluctor wheels but moved the cam sensor around on the motor. This affects the harness lengths. Make sure you have the right box for your motor.

Thanks for the reply, Pop. Yes, the Gen IV motors have the cam sensor in the front of the engine and Gen III in the back. I have a Gen III, so I should not be having this issue. The lead to the cam sensor, when the crank sensor is plugged in, is about 3 inches short.

Extra Length
Refering to the MSD harness I had the same issue with my the 5.3 in my '73 Nova swap. It seems to be a pretty common problem. I remedied the issue by lengthening the crank sensor wires 6" each. But I was sure to use GOOD GXL wire GOOD solder GOOD adhesive filled heat shrink and GOOD heat reflective woven fiber heat tubing over the top. So far 1700 miles with no issue.

I could lengthen the wires but for the money we pay, shouldn't they reach? It's not like every engine is different, all LS and Vortec Gen III engines have the sensors in the same location.
I called MSD, they say it fits and argued that they have never had a call on this issue. I am waiting for a call back from someone higher up.

89gmcs15, maybe you can tell me. I just laid the harness up against the firewall on the engine, I don't see anyway to secure it. Don't all the connections only fit one way to keep from mixing up sensor with plug?

I think when I did it I started at the crank sensor then worked back and I have the single plane so I ran my coil wire under the intake along the valley cover. And my main harness goes thru the firewall to the box I have mounted right next to my shifter. When I get home from work I will double check the routing. And maybe grab a few pics.

I have my box where the stock battery would sit and the wires ran up the inner fender well across the firewall to all the plug-ins.
Crank-pass. side near starter
Cam-top rear
....and then all the rest.

That is probably what I will need to do except the transmission fill tube is in the way.

Thanks for the suggestioins everyone. Since MSD has not called be back, I have decided to lengthen the can sensor wires about 4 inches. Now the harness reaches everything fine. I really did not want to do this but i do not have time to argue with MSD. (Their help desk insisted that they have never recieved a call like this and that it WILL fit. It did not fit.)

Good call adding a few extra inches. I did a lot of research on here before lengthening my harness and found quite a few other guys with the same issue and the same solution. Maybe we are doing something wrong, but finding your own solutions and learning is what this stage of the project is all about!

I had the same issue with the harness being short, not actually short but very tight. I just had Bill from Bp automotive make me an extension for about $20. Good guy to deal with.

At first I had this same issue
But it turns out that the lengths provided are correct but only for the harness to be ran a certain way.
You have to run the main harness along the rear of the engine and have where the crank trigger wire exits the main harness right behind the passangers cylinder head and run it straight down along the trans bellhousing.
It WILL fit this way but ONLY this way.
