Default 2x cam sensor question

Okay, hope this is in the correct section......I am swapping a gen 3 5.3 into my 97 camaro SS. Since I was replacing all the parts needed anyways I decided to run the ls9 cam. I know I will have to swap to a front cam sensor and my question is this. I have aquired 2 front covers with front cam sensors . Both have the sensor in them still. One came off an 05 buick rainier 5.3 and the other came off an 06 Envoy 5.3 also, both have different part numbers on the sensor which I can't get a definitive answer to which one if either will work for me as I need a 2x and not a 4x. Any help with an answer to which one will work is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Now I've also heard today that all of the different cam sensors work the same and that the cam gear is the only difference. Any definitive answer to this and if not which or my cam sensors do I need to use for an ls1 ecu?

Those sensors will interchange. You can use either one. The way to find out, just so you know next time, is to go to Rockauto.com and search for the p/n.
