Question 19,000 tranny cooler question

I installed a 19,000 B & M tranny cooler and the phantom autometer gauge pillar with trans temp. My question is this: what normal operating temp should my tranny be on the gauge? (approximately). I mean, what is considered a good (compared to stock) tranny temp?

My temp (as read by autotap) settles in around 160 on a normal day. You shouldn't see over 180* with your 160 T-stat set-up unless you are really flogging it hard.

I have a 24,000 GVW B&M cooler on my car and my Trans Temp gauge has never gone over 180 even in this Texas heat. I usually run around 150-160. I also have an deep aluminum Transmission Oil pan though. But just as long as you don't go over 200, you should be fine.

I like under 190F on the highway.

After a pass I was 'tween 190F and 210F.

If I did another pass I'd hit 220F.

I won't make a pass in a 4L60E if the temp is 220-225F.

I have the same s/u you have. As mentioned above during "normal" everyday driving, mine runs @ 150-160....
Where did you mount your sending unit??
Mine is in the side of the trans pan. Works great!
