not sure as I didn't build the motor. as I recall being told it was a custom grind, mid 230's on the intake and high 230's on the exhaust.

Nice runs! Trap is really low for the ET though, were you guys letting out on every run at the end?

Congrats, good looking car too. Drag racing is an addiction for sure!

thanks, yea he was letting off all night because he ran a 11.4 and was warned as the car has no roll bar. he was just trying to get the hang of launching the car.

Like to thank everybody for the positive comments! I just bought this car 2 months ago from a friend who built it to run the 11.5 index bracket. as of now I'm just trying to find out where we stand with it. the drivetrain has less than 2000 miles on it. the car is a joy to drive on the street (except for the Yank SS4000) and handles very well thanks to the Koni shocks. the car will dip into the 10's as is or with very little work (weight wise). so my question is where should I go with this car? I know everybody here will say go faster! my son who is 17 is the one driving the car and just raced for the first time ever as stated above! I know my next step would be a 6 point roll bar and belts, but still on the fence. want to keep the good street manners.I don't want to push my son to fast too soon! should I shoot for him to run in the 10.0 index bracket? let me hear your comments.

I would let him get use to the 11.5 index, then work his way up from there.
It want take long.
Go on and put a 8 point roll bar in now. 8 point is good for 9.99.
Call Eric @ MWC, he makes a nice 8 point.

its a nice little track. It was our first time there as we are from Pa and close to Maple Grove. family night test & tune on Wednesday night is such a good value as you can make as many passes as you want! The staff was very friendly and helpful with my son as stated in my post was his first time racing. we are now new fans of Island raceway!

what would it take to get the car into the 10's? he has run 11.2 a couple of times last time out. I have have Bogart RT wheels and skinnies for the front just have not run them as we drive an hour to the track. I'm sure dropping some weight would get us close as its a stock SS, even has working AC still on the car.

Do you have drag shocks on it yet? You could also try a ram air setup on it SSRA or Chris1313.

Light weight bumper supports, aftermarket Kmember, electric water pump,V6 front sway bar and a light weight battery that is DD friendly along with those wheels you mentioned should do it and car should handle fine for street use/DD
