Default stall??

alright, well im pulling out the tranny to install the shift kit(tranny needs to be dropped becasue its a full spring shift kit) and im installing a corvette cervo so the tranny won't blow once i install the radix. I figured since i'll have the tranny out might as well get a torque converter, i was going to go with a yank but a local parts guy told me with the power i'll be making with the radix (which i figure to be in the 400's) i need the upgrade yank which Tbyrne is selling for $889(pro truck). there regular one is $739.
I have also looked at TCI, TCS, and PI.

PI: $729.99
TCI: $464.99
TCS:$529.99

Do i realy need the upgrade? and which is the best converter?

btw (04' 5.3L RCSB pickup)

I like Yank, but both PI and TCI can handle over 400 rwhp. Some of the Yanks are rated for towing if that is a concern. I don't know the specifics of the stock cooler in a truck, but you should look into adding a cooler while your at it.

towing is not an issue. Is that the only advantage for the yank?
