Default Dyno'd the LQ9 Saturday.

There was a mobile wheel dyno at the FL2k event. So, I thought I would give it a shot. I dyno'd the car when I first got there. It was a little lean, I jetting up a bit and got another 1.5 MPH out of it later that day, so it may have dyno'd higher at that point. It was about 90 degrees outside during this dyno. 440 RWHP @ 6650 RPM. Here is a sheet and a video. Dig how quiet my car is LOL.

That is some great #s ! It shows in the times at the track. When I saw the thread title ,I really expected #s in the 300s, because my experience has always been that the dyno #s never match the trap speeds. Yours look close. My 68 Camaro makes a meager 368hp from the 406SBC, BUT runs 11.30s at 120 ! The handy dandy MPH to HP calculator says Im making about 420, but 2 different dynos showed mid 300s.
I would assume the #s are unlocked with the converter Tigger is running, true?

Yes. That was unlocked. My lock up solenoid died in the spring. I need to fix it.

When I talked with Chris about his converters, he said to never run on lockup at WOT with his single disc units. Do you have a multi disc Circle -D ?

You know that is weird. When he got in to put it up on the dyno, I could not help but feel uncomfortable.

I would like to see how my car does but ya know, every time there is a dyno event that I could do for 50$, I don't have a car going that I want to run on the rollers.

I am looking to get some 243s or 799 and mill/port them. See how the ol salvage motor responds. Prolly worth a couple tenths all motor.

Ive been patiently waiting for someone to ask , so if they wont , I will. No nitrous pull ? And you said you picked up 1.5 mph, so what did it run?

When I first got there it ran an 11.60 @116 in the motor. It felt flat. The 60' was weak and the 2nd half of the track was uncharacteristically weak. So, I fattened it up 2 jet sizes all around and it went 11.48 @ 117.5 which is more like it that weather. I am trying a new HSB and emulsion package, so I am working out the new tune.

Best I could get out of it on the nitrous was some 10.50s @ 130 peddling out of the hole. I got one solid hook after the street car shootout cruise, but I let the bottle get too low and ran out of juice. LOL Lost 5 MPH on the big end and fell to a 10.70. The car would have went 10.30s all day if I could have got her hooked up. Not that it would have mattered for winning. The turbo guys were KILLING!

A couple guys asked me to blast the nitrous on the dyno, but I couldn't see the point. I guess it is just for bragging rights?

I guess I wouldn't mind a dope hit on the rollers. Just to see where the power changers were with the jetting.
