Default what solid frame pad for hooker swap motor mounts in 2nd gen

found out the solid Moroso frame pad wont work with the hooker swap motor mounts for a 2nd gen (12613HKR). and not having any luck finding info on this. is there a solid frame pad that will work, or an i going to have to ditch the 2nd gen mounts and go with an adapter plate.

If you are planning on installing the new Hooker 2nd-gen LS swap headers, they have specific mounts that go with them to ensure you obtain the proper clearances and engine inclination geometry that was intended with their design. The 12621HKR kit you are referring to contains universal swap plates that are not specifically intended for 2nd-gen F-bodies. What year is your 2nd-gen? If you are doing a swap in a 1970-74 F-body you would want to use the 12512HKR engine mount kit (available before the SEMA show);this kit includes a drilling template that allows you to easily retrofit 1973-up GM clamshell mounts into a 1970-72 F-body if your car happens to be one of those model years. If you are doing a swap in a 1975-81 F-body you will want to use the 12613HKR engine mount kit which is available now. Those mounts couple the LS engine directly to the stock clamshell mounts in those cars without the need for any type of adapter plates. If you are doing some type of custom installation with the intent to use the older 12621HKR plates and some other brand of headers, there's not much info I can provide to you as Hooker has never performed an LS swap into a 2nd-gen using those swap plates. I hope this information is helpful to you, let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Is the Moroso part a solid replacement for the clamshell mounts?

No problem. I can't say the install with them will be completely hassle free as you may have to do a little grinding on the mounts or the Hooker brackets, but you should be able to make it work.

Hey, I just noticed you are located in E-town. We might be interested in seeing your completed install once you are done with it and getting some photos of it possibly for marketing purposes.

I'd appreciate that and can set you up with some type of Holley/Hooker merchandise for your troubles. Keep me posted and send me a PM when you're nearing completion.

That's good to hear, how close are you to competing your swap? Your car is an 80' Trans Am correct?
