Need good exhaust fab work Dallas area
My old man is putting the finishing touches on his car and is looking for someone to do some exhaust work. Thing is we really want to take it somewhere that has specific experience with F-body cars. He hasn't 100% decided on using his 3 inch Borla catback and Kooks Y pipe, or if he wants to run duals, or a better flowing custom Y just yet but we're discussing his options. Below is a mod list.
Car is a 95 M6 Firehawk.
Fully forged 383 with 12.3 to 1 CR
LE LT4 heads Flow about 285/200
LE LT4 manifold with 58mm Holley TB
LE 243/251 .597/.603 108 LSA
Kooks 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 to 3 inch collectors
42lb SVO's
ATI 6.75 balancer
4.10's
He plans to shift around 7k
Big reason we're asking is because we know his car will benefit from a better setup...but if the HP is not worth the time and effort (and ground clearance with duals) then he will just use the Kooks Y pipe he has.
Where do you guys go for custom Y's and true dual setups? Also how much is typical to spend on a custom Y pipe? Or duals? We've always used setups that pretty much go right in but for this he wants to go at least consider custom. What kind of power difference is there between a setup like his with a kooks Y, Custom Y with better merge, and duals? We're in The Colony but can travel a little but nothing crazy. Thanks in advance guys.

I've been there before a few times. Mostly to deal with Sam, however I had a set of duals put on. The guy acted like it was unheard of and I was a fool for it. They do know there stuff but there always "busy". Still the only local place I know of that caters to theses cars tho so...

We are always busy, we always put duals on these cars as well. I think it's a horrible idea, yes. They drag the ground ect on anything and everything. They rattle, rip holes through the floor and what not. There is no "good way" to do it. I know SLP makes a true dual kit all the way to the rear. That would be the only kit I would recommend for a dual kit. Otherwise, you're gonna spend a ton of money for something that's just not gonna be good.

Sam is no longer working out of Muffler King. Sam Miller now has his own shop in Arlington called Advanced Modern Performance. I do not think he does work on LT1's but dont take my word for it. He is a great tuner hands down. Muffler King is great shop either way. I have had those guys doing my exhaust work for years with multiple vehicles.

that muffler king place screwed up the bassani true duals I had on my old t/a... I heard Brian is pretty good but he was too busy washing the floor and his brother did it and hacked it up... it was already installed I just needed them to weld some ball and socket flanges onto the ends of my longtubes to connect the midpipe to... I took it to Ray at fortress and he did a much better job... he used to be behind TDP, not sure if he is there anymore

If you are in the north Dallas area, I would recommend Jerry's Muffler. He did some exhaust work on my Trans Am, very quick and courteous. Plus he has a lot of experience working on these cars.
