Default 96 headers on a 94 ?

One of the guys here on the forums offered me a set of smog legal headers for a great price, but i was digging around and it looks like his are from a 96 camaro lt1. Will it bolt up to my 94 T/A lt1 with no problems? Thanks!

The y-pipe is different on a 96 vs a 94. The 94 has a single cat whereas the 96 has two cats.

Are you doing shorty headers that are CA smog legal or are you just wanting long tubes or mids that have air and egr fittings? This matters because 96 style shorties suck...

Yeah those are good, no reason they won't bolt right up to the heads. You may have to get some piping made/bent/or welded up for the y-pipe/catback though.

I hope those aren't the exact headers you're looking to install on your '94.......unless you've swapped in an LS1 engine!

Haha, also, I'm planning on going with fel pro 1406 gaskets but im not sure what bolts to go with, kinda skeptical of the locking stage 8s, but unsure of another to go with. Also, is it better to dummy o2's or just use extensions. Also, the cars 20 years old, should i just throw a new set of o2's on, and what ones should i go with in that case. thanks!

I see that Proform has an interesting, new header bolt on the market. They use a pair of serrated locking washers that tighten into each other, sort of, and at the same time they lock into the surface of the header flange. I don't know about their use with headers, but I have seen these locking washers used in industrial applications, and they work well.

Quick Reply: 96 headers on a 94 ?
