What does TCC stand for?

Default What does TCC stand for?

I'm trying to install a '94 LT1 into a '97 z28. Viewing the differences of each year LT1 on shbox.com, the '97s have 'TCC' and the '94 does not. Every time I search for it, it's always abbreviated. Somebody please tell me what the hell 'TCC' is so I can calculate how much I'll need for the entire swap.

Im wrong, it appears to be something to do with the torque converter lockup.

Please read more carefully. It indicates the type of TCC (Torque Converter Clutch) and shows as either PWM (Pulse Width Modulated) or non-PWM. They all have a TCC. The type of computer and it's programming is what controls it and it requires an additional wire to the trans that pre-95s don't have in the engine/trans harness.

During the LT1 years, the 4l60E transmissions had changes almost every year. These vehicles pretty much need a transmission that matches the year of the PCM & harness.

thank god they can be rebuilt over and over if thats the case ........


i was going to guess transmission control circuit, because thats what would come up on my 1998 s10 every time i used the remote car starter, it would short something out, throw a code for 35 miles and go into limp mode until it cleared.....i stopped using that thing.

Well, I'm using the PCM, wiring harness, and T-56 transmission from the '97, not from the '94. The only thing I'm transferring from the '94 is the motor. So would I have to worry about the TCC?

Torque Converters are for automatics, not stick (T56) so "TCC" does not apply.

94 LT1 is OBD1 so it didn't have crank position sensor, dual block knock sensors and rear 02's. There may be other diffrences but TCC is not what you need to worry about on a T56

Agreed. You'll need to add to the 1994 block all the sensors used for the 1997 PCM & harness you're using. The balancer hub is different also to accommodate the 4x crank reluctor in front of the timing gear.
