What are the chances? I just got paranoid after seeing this video, what are the chances of a clutch exploding like this? how many of you have a scatter shield?

I've seen it happen on imports too when people use cheap cast material for a pressure plate or flywheel and then run an aggressive friction material that gets it extremely hot.
My advice is buy from guys who's product is proven, if it's super cheap, there is a reason.
As far as a scatter shield, I always recommend those for guys who beat the hell out of their cars. It's a CYA thing.

I have had an SFI bell housing / scater shield on my car for years, I like my legs/feet. I also race my car and am not so kind to my clutch. Never had to use it yet... Knock on Wood.
