Default How rare?

I just got a 02 hardtop z28 and I was wondering how rare is it. Car has a 6 speed in it with all power options except rear defroster. Just wondering since ever 02 I see has t tops, most hadtops I come across are 99s

Was no rear window defroster something they did on hardtops in 02, it just seems silly to me that it doesn't have it on there.

Rear window defroster (RPO C49) has nothing to do with roof type. This was an option that was separate from other packages, and could be added to any trim level in a hard top or t-top.

I'm guessing that your car was either custom ordered originally, or that it came from a southern/southwestern state, since it would be very uncommon for a regular dealer lot inventory car of this era to be optioned without a rear defroster in a northern state.

As for rarity, having no rear defroster and no t-tops makes it less common than usual, but otherwise it's just another M6 Z28.

Welcome to the site, and enjoy your new purchase.

Thanks for your help, what you said seems spot in since it was a southern car. I was more interested in how many actual hardtops where made as opposed to t tops. I wasn't sure if anyone has that info or not. Defroster is defiantly cleared up as far as the southern thing tho

Don't get me wrong I love the car. I use to have a 2000 z28 with t tops and I specifically wanted a hardtop.

I was just wondering out of all the black camaros made in 2002, how many had a v8 and a hardtop vs. t tops

I couldn't find the breakdown of M6/Z28/Hardtop cars for 2002, but I did find that there was 42,098 Camaros built in 2002. Of the 42,098 57.6% of them had RPO CC1 (removal roof panels/T-tops) which leaves 42.4% or 17,850 cars to be non-t-top cars. Subtract the convertibles (8,083) and you get about 9,767 hardtop cars.

So, by my calculation, the answer is...there was 9,767 hard top cars in 2002, with an unspecified amount of them being Z28 cars.

Long story short, it's an uncommon combo, but not anywhere near the point that it effects the value of the car or anything.

Use http://www.compnine.com/vid.php and I'm sure you're car will be "1 of 1" lol.
