New guy - F-bodies in Rochester, NY
hey everybody -
i'm hoping to build my first LS engine and i've read on thirdgen.org and nastyz28.com that this is the place to come for information.
i'm slowly trying to restore/customize a 1984 Pontiac Trans Am. i bought the car as a roller for $500 and was in pretty nice shape for being a NY car.
so far the interior is all restored, the bodywork is maybe half done and i recently got a LQ4 i'd like to build. i'm planning on using a 4L80E tranny, mostly UMI aftermarket suspension upgrades and i hope to install a GM 10 bolt posi rear end (because i have an extra one laying around).
the other car i have that actually runs is a 1972 Camaro. unfortunately it's not an LSx car, but the engine combo is pretty unique. it's a sbc 350 with a 144 B&M blower and B&M superjection system. tranny is a 4L80E controlled by a TCI TCU. dyno says it's about 300HP at the rear wheels. it's not as impressive as some of your guys' cars, but it's quick.
