Default S475 users come in

Ive got a 4.8 Silverado I plan on throwing a S475 in. A friend gave it to me since he didn't need it anymore, I was wondering if anyone has run one with a T6 1.32 A/R before on a 4.8. I plan on going with a custom boost cam, tbss intake, ported 243's milled down to achieve a c/r of 10:1 or so to help the 4.8 spool the s475. If im wrong on this some advice would help me a lot. Im also going to run a 4L80 with a 3600 yank. The setup will be a log style system, 80lb injectors, LPE 340 pump till I do a return style fuel system.

S475 will feed it good. Boost may not come in till 4000rpm depending on turbine size. But I love this turbo. Dependable and is making great power on my ls1. My boost comes in at 3500rpm making about 5psi at that point and full tilt at 4100-4200rpm. I have the 1.32a/r and 96mm turbine.

It will be very very easy to put the wrong cam in it, other then that it would be great on the 4.8, expect full boost by about 4600rpm with a reasonable waste gate spring in it.

Thumbs up

Keep your hot side pipe size as small as possible to help it spool. To bad its not the 1.10 turbine side version, it would be more at home on a 4.8, but what you have will work just a touch more RPM to spool. Good luck, it will be fun.

Would a 2.25 pipe be too big?

Probably. Depends how much power you want. 2" should support 1000 crank....or so a few of the "pros" say. Would be really interesting to see how fast boost came on with that combo. I'd look into a something small like the isky 212/212/ 112 cam. It's been proven to work very well on a few 4.8's.

you can have a 1.10 made for it. I'm going with a 475/87/1.0 on my 4.8 with a 38-4k stall.
