best year e38 ecm for swap
i am swapping a 2012 truck 6.0 into my 95 6 speed camaro and am wondering what ecm to grab, the local wreckers has a 07 listed for 100$ and 09 for 120$
also
do these ecm's have the ability to control the ses light directly? also do they have a tach output?
can cruise be made to work?

Why not use the 2012 truck ECM and program? They are not all that expensive. Yes on the ability to control the SES light and the tach output. I am doing it on my car with the E38. You might need a Body Control Module for the cruise to work.

the ones listed are the ones available to me, going to get this later this week, just trying to figure out what ecm would be best, is the newer one worth an extra 20$
also because its a 6 speed car i will have to control the reverse lockout, so i assume i need to run a manual car os anyways.

You don't "have" to control the reverse lockout for the transmission, but you will have to press hard to the right to get the car in reverse.
I can't remember what is necessary (if anything) to run a manual transmission with an E38 since they use a TCM to control the auto functions. You may want to search the programming and diagnostics section for that answer.

the t56 i am using is from a 99, it will bolt right up no issues.. also its relatively easy to convert the lt1 t56 to ls1, buy an input shaft, shim kit, belhousing and end case..
my question was in regards to what ecm would be better, the 07 or 09+ for 20$ more

As mentioned before, GM is always updating the calibrations (program) on those things. The ECM will be physically the same, but the operating system running the calibration on it could be different. This sometimes changes what you can or can't do within the calibration.
In a simple word - yes, both will work fine. If you want to nerd out and do fancy non OEM stuff like run it boosted with a custom aftermarket OS, the older or newer operating system may be better depending on what you are doing. Honestly, if it's just going to be sent to a tuner and run pretty much stock, save the $20 and use it somewhere else like pretty bolts or wire loom.
