I haven't posted on here in a very long time since I sold my 02 SS, but I just inherited my dads Z28 thats bone stock except for 488/510 duration 292/302 cam, and full exhaust. It has an electronic quadrajet, and I'm sure the cam is big enough to be jacking with the carbs idle circuit. (from what I've read, I could be wrong) It won't idle below 1000, and for some reason only when I'm driving, like coming to a stop light, it stays at 1500... its just odd. I have been thinking about junking the carb, getting a new intake and distributer and 600 cfm carb... What are ya'lls thoughts.. all the emissions stuff is all still hooked up.

If it is bone stock it has a 305 not a 350. It's been awhile since I had my thirdgen but Im pretty sure that cam is too big for the electric carb. That is also a pretty big cam for a 305. I'd go with an Edelbrock RPM intake, a hei distributor, and your choice of 600 carb. Some tuning you should be able to get it decent.

Yes it's a stock 305 except cam and headers. It's a L69 motor. Someone offered me a free 750 CFM carb. Is that too much?

In my opinion yeah that's too much. If you are good with carbs or know someone that is, you could make it work though.
