Default which intake and carb to use?

I'm selling my fuel injection stuff and just going carb on my ls2 out of a 05 tbss It is stock except I installed a 228r cam with spring kit. It is going in my 72 chevelle in front of a f body t56. Chevelle has 3:73 gears. Only other mod is the edelbrock ls swap headers. What intake manifold and size carb should I purchase?? I'd like to get something in the holley hp series. Car will be a weekend car with not alot of track use but want it to scream ***** when I bury the gas pedal. Thanks

I have a gmpp single plane and 750 double pumper on my stock cam LS2. It definitely screams *****. Just ask the cop I inadvertantly out ran last year.

You have a good bit more cam than the stock LS2. I think most guys will tell you a 750 is good, but you could probably consider one size up.

Inadvertantly out running a cop is like accidentally drinking a beer.

750 Mechanical Secondary Holley is a great choice. Check out the Quick Fuel Q-series for a race style or the SS series if you want to have a choke for cold weather.

Not if you don't realize who is driving the headlights that are rapidly getting smaller in the rear view mirror...

I went with an 850 CFM Edelbrock Thunder AVS carb w/ manual choke and Performer intake on mine. My LS1 has a stock long block. Its coupled to a c5 trans with an f-body tail housing, and a 3.42 rear axle. I ran a 3.73 rear until a month ago and loved it.

A guy at the local strip ran a dominator 1050 off a previous motor in his drag car. He put a bone stock LS2 in his 71 chevelle. He said he thought it would be too much carb, but it handled it surprisingly well. Granted this car seen 5000+Rpm A lot. It also had a glide/big stall. And ran High 10s.

Let me know when you are ready, A Performer RPM and a Proforom/Holley 750 sounds like it would run great.
