Default LS Swaps, Just the facts!

Build threads are cool, I have one too but when it comes to researching the next project it is a PITA to read 20 pages of info to figure out what mounts, headers, pan, etc.

How about a thread with just the facts of a build:

Chassis:
Engine:
Mounts:
Oil Pan:
Headers:
Cross member:
Cooling:
Fueling:
Wiring:
Link to build:
Common issues:
And lastly, a picture because people like pictures! Only one picture to keep the post clean

I will start with my LS3 IS300
Chassis: 2002 IS300
Engine: LS3
Mounts: Token Solutions 2JZ mounts, 1 inch spacer, bolted to The block half of truck mounts
Oil Pan: Canton dry sump pan
Headers: Custom one off
Cross member: Stock, old wet sump set up required cle and aeromotive regulator
Wiring: Hack job to a truck harness and EZ wiring body harness
Link to build: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...t-machine.html
Common issues: Headers on the driverside must wrap around the steering, side saddle fuel tank likes to starve on one side if you do more than going straight.

Please give the facts on your build!

You are missing the point. Neither of the links you posted give the "Cliffs Notes" for a lack of better terms. Most people on here understand the basics and for many this is not their first swap. A quick list of what swap parts have been used with success is the best tool when starting a build.

Sounds like a good idea if we can stick to only posting the info if you want to post a reply do so in the link to that persons thread. With that being said:

Chassis: 86 Camaro Iroc-Z
Engine: 5.3 LM7
Mounts: Speedway Motors 1" setback adapter
Oil Pan: Standard F-Body oil pan
Headers: Racing Innovations LT's
Cross member: Stock K-member
Cooling: Ford Contour Two Speed Twin Fans
Fueling: 4th Gen Hard Lines/Tank/Pump
Wiring: Complete Wiring Harness From A 00' Firebird
Link to build:https://ls1tech.com/forums/chevrolet...-thirdgen.html
Common issues: Pretty straight forward with the 4th gen harness everything ive done was fairly simple searching through this site's forums has been a lot of help as well as thirdgen.org

I like the Idea but answering your questions will not get anyone near a C4 LS swap. GL

Chassis: 2001 BMW 540i Sport
Engine: 6.0 LQ4, milled 317 heads, Z06 cam, LS6 intake
Trans: Stage 2 TDP T56 (3.62 M5 LSD rear)
Mounts: Custom fabbed, 2" square tube.
Oil Pan: Modified LS1 GTO pan (front sump)
Headers: 1st gen CTS-V manifolds
Crossmember: Custom fabbed angle iron/flat stock
Cooling: C5 Vette radiator, VW overflow bottle, modified '05 Monte Carlo fan
Fueling: C5 Vette FPR
Wiring: Van harness modified to fit bay, interfaced with OEM BMW cluster

Common issues: Mounts have to snake around steering box and alternator, shifter has to be offset to the rear, wiring is time consuming when using OEM gauges.

I added trans info as well.

I'd add accessory drive to the mix as well

Chassis: 92 firebird
Engine: Techco supercharged 6.0/T56
Mounts: custom solids
Oil Pan: C6 corvette
Headers: SSW
Accessory drive: custom on the corvette spacing
Cross member: Spohn tubular
Cooling: stock rad, LT1 dual fans
Fueling: stock tank, twin intank pumps, complete AN6 system
Wiring: DIY
Link to build: http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/lt...t-left-13.html
Common issues: blower doesn't clear wiper motor with standard mounts. LSx into a 3rd gen is simple otherwise

Common issuesrivers side exhaust is space limited by the steering shaft, have to beat the fire wall for the engine/trans to slide further back. I started out with a L33 5.3 and Now have since went to a 5.7 and turboed it.
