I have stock TA wheels ( PA6 RPO ) right now and I'm going to be getting 18s come spring time.

The rims I would like to get are 9.5inch wide, but are often out of stock on OE Wheels. ( Black C6 ZR1 18''x9.5'' set ) The alternative rims are 8.5 wide. ( Gunmetal C6 ZR1 18''x8.5'' )

I'm just curious if I would have to get thinner tires ( thinking 255 ) on the 8.5s or if I could still go with the 275s.

Its not a huge deal, but I do want the tires to be quite snug on the rim and not have to stretch them at all.

Side note : Will 275s on a 9.5 extrude out far enough to be even with the fender as seen in this picture?

My stock 245s don't stick out at all ( As you can tell from the album in my signature ) and I really like the aggressiveness of the stance in the linked picture.

EDIT : Forgot to ask. Will I run into any problems running 275/35/18s in the front?

Don't think you can do 275 on a 8.5 rim most people suggest the smallest being a 9in rim. Other question yes you can run 275/35/18 up front

I'd stick a set of 255/40/18 tires on the 8.5" wide wheels.

This is what I'm going to do. After double checking the first rim choice, theyre 8.5s. The 9.5s I thought I was looking at is a staggered set with 8.5s up front.

I had to go to like four different tire shops to find one willing to put 275/30s on my 19x8.5 wheels - they fit fine with no issues

People go with 285s and 295s all the time with 9" and 9.5" wheels. Some even go as far as 315s. So I don't think 275 would be too bad at all on an 8.5" wheel. Probably just a small amount of bulge but nothing major at all.

Yes, I ran them on 17's though. Doesn't bulge at all, like the previous picture shows.
