Default Do you need check valves on dual fuel pump

I am installing twin walbro 450 lph pumps. I am going to stage them running on one pump until X boost and then turn the second pump on.
With these pumps do I need a check valve on the second pump?
Thanxs

Should be built into the pumps.

You don't need to plumb in a check valve, no.

EDIT: Actually if you are connecting the jet pump in the bucket somehow you should run a check valve.

well i went ahead and added check valves . i did not want to risk having a problem turning the second pump on under boost. probably overkill but o'well.

That doesn't make any sense, there is a check valve in each pump and they work really well...

Personally, I would not worry about having installed the check valves. As long as flow restriction is negligible, you'll be fine. Maybe check combined flow of the pumps both WITH and WITHOUT the check valves installed, and make a decision. Not the most "scientific" approach, but should give you a good idea. Also...you could try pressurizing the whole system (minus check valves) with a gauge on the fuel rail to watch for rapid pressure loss when the key is "off", which would indicate the lack of a native check valve in the pumps.
