Default Harder Nitrous Launches Coming Soon.

So, I have been plotting my attack on the 9 second club. One of the characteristics of my nitrous launches has been a wicked twist:

In an effort to get a more controlled launch, I have purchased my first drag racing specialty part for my street car. A HR Parts N' Stuff anti-roll bar. The cool thing about this bolt on unit is that it can be street driven. Can't wait to put it to the test:

I already hate you because you hook up!!! Now look at what you've done! LOL.JK
That should help a lot and should keep you from loosing the right rear tire on the hook up. Flatter turns should be an added bonus.

Just be careful. I had a buddy that had one on his fox that was considered for street use and he broke his after driving on the street. Be impressive to see that heavy ride run 9s. Hell, its impressive already.

Those hr bars are awesome. I had them on the gn's that I use to race. The tires came up even and straighten the launch up. You will love it and pick up in the 60'.

My UPR anti roll bad is for track use only. No problems on the street, but I hit inclined head on.

I boxed the converter up and sent it back to Circle D for a restall today. Pulling transmissions sux. I told Chris to give me as much converter as he could that would still take a 200 shot of nitrous. We will see what he comes up with.

Now we're talking! And the best part is, since you're in FL we won't have to wait until spring for the results!

What converter/trans set up is in yours? How does it do on the nitrous? Do you know your shift extension and flash on and off the nitrous?

Mine is a TH400 with an 8 inch PTC converter. It's rated as a 5000-5200 stall but it only goes 4800 on the brake behind my low compression motor. I've never brought it up on the brake on the spray for obvious reasons.

I would say my converter is a good "happy medium" between the motor and spray, ie. its just a touch too tight to be "optimal" on motor and just a bit too loose to be "optimal for nitrous", but works "OK" with both.

I really need to set up a go pro and watch the tach during a nitrous pass because there's just too much going on inside the car for me to watch it and register what I'm seeing so quickly. I can tell you though, that I have seen a drop from 7K to around 5700 on the 2-3 shift on motor. I know that's not very helpfull but my guess is it probably only drops to 6K or so on nitrous shifts because inside the car I can tell it's not completely blowing through the converter on the spray.

I can also tell you that it's revving around 6700-6800 at the stripe on the motor. On the spray, it'll turn on my 7K shift light before the stripe but won't hit the 7500 rev limiter. But then again, it's only been 131'ish so far, even on the .063 jet. The track was ice cold and it was a complete peddle-fest for the first 100ft or so, so i didn't get a full run at the big end. I'll try again next year with fresh tires and warmer weather.

Mine drops from 7k to 5200 on the motor and from 7k to 5600 on the nitrous going off of the tach.

Is that on the .063 jet ^^^? Sounds like it could handle some more spray the way it already is. What is your trap RPM on motor and spray?

Probably a silly question, but are you expecting it to come back from Circle D tighter or looser?

Yes, that is on a 63n jet tune. I have no doubt this converter would take a 300 shot. LOL

Yes. Definitely looser. I would like it to ET better on the motor. I want it as loose as possible but still be able to handle my bigger shot so I can have my 9 second glory pass. Most of what I have read says this type of converter can be about 3600-3800 NA stall and still take a 200 shot, but I will wait to see what Chris says.

That's cool. I'm pretty sure mine is at it's limit with the .063 jet but I won't know for sure until I get a clean pass.

I'll be anxious to hear where yours ends up. What is it now? Around 3000?

It doesn't quite make it to 3000 when it flashes. Probably closer to 2800. The strange thing about it is that most of the F-body guys that have those Yank 3600 converters don't even get in the 1.6s. I always wondered why.

Wow, that thing is pretty tight then. Your car already 60's well but it should love a looser set up.

Are you going to send the trans back to Lonnie for a freshen up before you go back in with it?
