Default $90 pinion depth gauge from Summit?

Has anyone used one of these? Most professional depth kits sell for $300 or more. I have to use this one time. My other option is to buy an extra set of pinion bearings and open up the center to use as "dummy" bearings for set up.

Yes, I used this set to do my gears. Works just fine. The gage seems good however I remember it being a little finicky. I really had to ensure it was solidly placed and mounted. A little more error in the gage then I would have liked but it works for less than $100 bucks.

I also had a magnetic base from harbour freight which really helped and that was $10 bucks.
