Default inner cooler question

If I ever get this far with my 51 truck I want to do a 5.3, turbo. I have 2 new chevy and ford style alum rads. They're the universal type so I was wondering if I could weld bigger inlet and outlets in 1 of them and use it for a inner cooler? I don't see why it wouldn't work but thought I'd ask.

If you're referring to using a radiator designed for water, to cool boosted air as an "intercooler"

Then No.

I guess it pays to ask. Just talked to a friend of mine, he said he has 1 out of a turbo regal. I can get it. I don't have much room so this may work out.
